BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Kayla Yokley will join the Lady Bulldog program this fall. Yokley, a sophomore, will transfer into Union from the University of the Cumberlands.

"I am happy to have Kayla joining our program," said Forti. "She is a sophomore swimmer who has qualified to the national meet in her freshmen year. She will be focusing on sprint events at Union and will help our women's program to continue to excel on those events."

Yokley, a native of Wartburg, Tenn., qualified for this past seasons NAIA National Championship Meet in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, helping Cumberlands finish 12th as a team at the event. Yokley prepped at Wartburg Central High School, where she was a member of the school's swim team and graduated with honors.

Kayla, the daughter of  Jennifer Richardson and Chris Yokley, will major in criminal justice at Union.
