CONYERS, Ga. -- The Union College cycling team raced for the third time on their 2011 season this past weekend at the Georgia Tech MTB Race held in Conyers, Ga.

 For the men, junior Wesley Lamberson (Limestone, Tenn.) led the Bulldogs once again at a race, taking two events on the weekend. Lamberson captured both the short track cross country, and the time trial with a time of 11:40. Zach Winn was also impressive at the event, finishing second in two events: short track XC, and the dual slalom. He also placed third in the time trial, and fifth in the cross country.

Other top finishers for the men included Brad Nelson (Carmel, Ind.), who finished second in dual slalom, and 10th in short track XC, while Drake Lindsey finished fourth in the time trial, sixth in the short track XC, and ninth in the cross country. The last performances of note for the men were recorded by Bennett Winn, who placed fifth in the time trial, and 11th in the short track XC.

For the women, Kara Uhl and Elisa Otter won events. Uhl won the dual slalom, while finishing second in the time trial and fifth in the cross country. Meanwhile, Otter won the time trial with a mark of 15:54, finished second in the short track XC, and third in both the dual slalom and cross country.

The other two performances of note for the women were registered by Catherine Harnden (Ontario, Canada), who placed fourth in the dual slalom, and Maria Esswein (Perryville, Mo.), who finished seventh in the cross country.

The Union cycling team returns to the course on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Mars Hill.
