CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. --
The Union College bowling team opened their 2011-12 campaign on Saturday at the Green River Classic in Campbellsville, Ky. In the event, the men's team placed 12th, while the women's squad finished eighth.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs ended the day with a total pin fall of 5466.
UC was led in the event by Jonathan Courtney
, who finished 24th overall out of 119 bowlers. Andrew Long
placed 43rd at the event, while Michael Davenport
was 51st overall. Joseph Davenport rounded out the finishers for the men on the weekend, finishing 56th.
For the women, the Lady Bulldogs recorded a total pin fall of 4732.
Individually, Hannah Roberts
had the best finish of the weekend, placing seventh out of 57 bowlers at the event. Christy King
(Hendersonville, Tenn.) finished 14th, while Kayleen Hiatt
(Kettering, Ohio) was 19th overall. Meanwhile, Lauren Knecht
was 32nd, and Juleda Hyde
rounded out the top finishers on the weekend placing 46th.
Union returns to action on Oct. 8 when they take part in the Western Shootout in Indianapolis, Ind.
