BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Union College's Nikki Jeck and Sofie Jorgensen scored two goals, apiece, to pace the Lady Bulldogs to a convicing 6-1 victory at Bluefield in Appalachian Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, Union improved to 6-4 on the year, 1-2 in the AAC, while Bluefield fell to 0-10, 0-3 in the AAC with the defeat.

In the first half, UC got on the scoreboard first in the 16th minute when Jeck (Richmond, Ky.) scored her first goal of the afternoon off an assist from Danielle Gilbert (Ft. Thomas, Ky.), making the score 1-0 in favor of the Lady Bulldogs. 

Union continued to ride the one goal lead into the latter part of the period, but in the 38th minute, Jorgensen (Oksbol, Denmark) scored her first goal of the day off an Stephanie Cagle (Independence, Ky.) assist, making the score 2-0.

The Lady Bulldogs, however, were not done registering offense in the first period, as Jeck added her second goal of the period off an assist by Jorgensen with 36 seconds left. The goal, which was the seventh of the season for Jeck, gave Union a 3-0 lead going into the half.

In the second half, Union extended the lead out to 4-0 in the 59th minute when Jorgensen scored her second goal of the day, and 10th of the season, off an assist from Jenn Sckirl (Edmonton, Canada). 

The Lady Bulldogs' next, and last scoring plays of the day came within minutes of each-other in the latter part of the contest. First, Helen Weber (Marburg, Germany) scored her eighth goal of the season off a Sckril assist in the 71st minute, then Morgan Stuck (Shepardsville, KY) scored in the 73rd minute off an assist from Weber. The goal, which was the first of the season for Stuck, gave Union an insurmountable 6-0 lead.

Bluefield finally got on the scoreboard with eight minutes left in the match when Cortney Pattison scored on a penalty kick. No one else scored the rest of the match, as the Union coasted to a dominating five-goal win.

Overall, Union outshot Bluefield 27-8. In goal, Union's Stephanie Burton (Queensland, Australia) was the winner, making six saves overall on the day for Lady Bulldogs.

Union returns to the pitch on Wednesday when they travel to Bryan for another AAC tilt. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
