BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union women's basketball team announced its 2011-12 schedule on Friday, and it features 14 home games and 18 Appalachian Athletic Conference contests.

In all, the Lady Bulldogs will play 29 regular-season games beginning on Nov. 11-12 when they participate in the Tennessee Wesleyan Classic in Athens, Tenn.

Union will be under the pressure cooker in November with seven of its eight games in the month are away from Robsion Arena. However, all five of the Lady Bulldogs' December dates are at home.

The conference schedule expanded from 14 games last season to 18 this year with the addition of new league members Columbia (S.C.) and Point (Ga.). Union will open AAC play on Nov. 30 at Bluefield (Va.) with its first home conference game coming on Dec. 3 against Tennessee Wesleyan.

In all, Union will play in four different classics this season. After the season-opening classic at Tennessee Wesleyan, the Lady Bulldogs will play in the Berea (Ky.) Pepsi Classic on Nov. 18-19 and will host two classics in December - the Lady Bulldog Classic on Dec. 9-10 and the Union Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30.

One opponent Union will become very familiar with is Alice Lloyd (Ky.). The Lady Bulldogs and Lady Eagles will square off three times in November as both are in the Tennessee Wesleyan and Berea Pepsi classics. The two will meet up again on Nov. 28 in Pippa Passes, Ky.

The season will culminate with the AAC Tournament on Feb. 20-27.
