ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Union College's Helen Weber has won the Appalachian Athletic Conference's women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week award for the period ending Oct. 9, the league announced on Monday.

Weber (Marburg, Germany), a freshman, garnered the award after scoring the game winner in Union's lone match of last week, a 1-0 win at Bryan on Wednesday. The goal snapped a scoreless tie, and was scored in the 86th minute.

For the season, Weber has scored nine goals overall, which is second on the team, and the AAC for the 2011 season. The game winner against Bryan was also Weber's second of the season.

The Lady Bulldogs, 7-4 overall and 2-2 in the AAC,  return to the pitch on Saturday when they host Montreat in an AAC tilt. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bulldog Field.
