ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Three Union College volleyball players earned Appalachian Athletic Conference weekly awards for their performance on the court last week on Monday, as Kalia Yasak was named the AAC Setter of the Week, Brooke Porter earned Libero of the Week honors, and Lauren McMillan took the Hitter of the Week award.

The three helped the Lady Bulldogs go 3-1 on the week, as the squad had wins over AAC foes Bluefield (3-0), Columbia (3-1), and Virginia Intermont (3-2) to improve their record on the year to 16-14 overall, and 13-1 in the AAC.

Yasak (Kula, Hawaii), a senior, earned Setter of the Week honors after recording a combined 185 assists in four matches played on the week,  61 of which came against Virginia Intermont. She also had 24 digs, five kills, and an ace on the week.

On the season, she has 943 assists (a 9.3 assist per game ratio) to lead the Lady Bulldogs, and has recorded 170 digs. 


Porter (Louisville, Ky.), a junior, earned the Libero of the Week award, after notching 80 digs on the week, with 26 of those digs coming in the VI match. She also recorded six aces on the week, four of which came against Columbia. 

On the year, Porter has a team-high 510 digs, which averages out to 4.9 digs per match. She's also recorded 23 aces on the year. 


McMillan (Corbin, Ky.), a senior, took the hitter of the week award after recording 64 kills on the week for the Lady Bulldogs. She notched a team-high 20 kills in the Virginia Intermont match, and also recorded 12 digs and an ace on the week, as well.

For the year, McMillan has notched a team-high 240 kills (2.7 a game), 133 digs, and 26 aces for the Lady Bulldogs. 


The Union College volleyball team returns to action on Friday when they travel to Bryan for an AAC tilt. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
