DAYTON, Tenn. -- The Union College cross country team concluded their 2011 regular season on Saturday, taking part in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship held at the Fort Bluff Camp in Dayton, Tenn. Bryan College hosted the event.

For the men, the Bulldogs finished sixth overall as a squad, as host Bryan took the overall conference title.

Individually for the Bulldogs, senior Eric Kinman was the team's high finisher, placing 17th overall, running the 8k course in 28:14.03. Junior Bradley Fieldhouse finished just behind Kinman in 19th place, crossing the finish line in 29:41.09, while Shawn Spoon rounded out UC's top finishers, running the course in 35:27.02 to place 38th.

On the women's side, Milligan took the team title. Individually for Union, the Lady Bulldogs' highest finisher was Cassy Kost, who placed 20th after running the 5k course in 22:47.05. Briana Degennaro finished 23rd overall with a time of 23:30.03, while Maria Esswein rounded out the top finishers for Union finishing 28th in 24:24.06.

With their wins, Bryan and Milligan qualify for the NAIA Cross Country National Championship in Vancouver, Wash. on Nov. 19. Several at-large spots on both the team and individual end have yet to be determined for the national championships, and will be announced next week.
