KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Union head coach Chuck Amshoff earned 2011 Appalachian Athletic Conference Volleyball Coach of the Year honors, and four Lady Bulldogs made the All-AAC Team, the league announced Wednesday.

In his first season at Union, Amshoff guided the Lady Bulldogs to a 14-2 conference record in capturing the AAC regular-season championship.

Making the First Team are Lauren McMillan (Corbin, Ky.), Karina Ramos (Presidente Prudente, Brazil) and Cat Neumann (Louisville, Ky.). Kalia Yasak (Kula, Hawaii) earned a spot on the Second Team.

McMillan leads the team with 254 kills and owns a .212 hitting percentage. She also has 138 digs and 42 total blocks and 27 service aces.

Ramos recorded 161 kills and .244 hitting percentage during the the regular season. In addition, she had 46 total blocks, 82 digs and 29 aces.

Neumann posted 224 kills and a .126 hitting percentage with 37 total blocks, 185 digs and 23 aces.

Yasak registered 1,021 assists this season to go along with 30 kills, 20 blocks, 21 aces and 178 digs.

Making the Academic All-Conference Team are McMillan, Amelia Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.) and Caity Merritt (Abingdon, Va.).

Union is currently playing the AAC Tournament in Kingsport, Tenn.
