KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Seniors Lauren McMillan and Amelia Cantrell each hammered home a match-high nine kills to lead top-seeded Union to a 3-0 sweep over No. 8 Bluefield (Va.) in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs (18-15 overall) move on to face No. 4 Columbia (S.C.) at 1 p.m. Thursday. Columbia advanced by sweeping fifth-seeded Milligan (Tenn.).

Bluefield ends the season with an 8-26 record.

Union had little problem deposing of Bluefield, winning 25-16, 25-14, 25-11. In fact, the Lady Rams had just 14 kills as a team but had 21 attack errors.

McMillian (Corbin, Ky.) finished with nine kills and two aces, while Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.) had nine kills and two total blocks. Chelsea Kirschman (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) had seven kills and two total blocks, and Cat Neumann (Louisville, Ky.) had seven kills and three total blocks.

Kalia Yasak (Kula, Hawaii) recorded 36 assists in the sweep.
