HARROGATE, Tenn. -- Lincoln Memorial had four players record double digit scoring nights, as they rolled past the Union College men's basketball team, 91-65, in an exhibition contest at Turner Arena on Thursday night.

LMU, an NCAA Division II member, is ranked fifth in the country in the latest NABC Division II Top 25.

In the first half, UC was right with the host Railsplitters, as they only trailed 11-7 at the 13-minute mark after a three-pointer by Carlos Sanford (Durham, N.C.). This was the theme for most of the first half, as LMU kept a lead, albeit a small one, throughout.

The closest Union got to this lead was four points, which happened on two occasions in the first period. The Bulldogs got it down to 25-21 with seven minutes left after a Ryan Young (Waynesburg, Ky.) three, and 31-27 with four minutes left after Young drained two free throws.

The Railsplitters, however, went on a tear going into the half, going on a 14-3 run over the final four minutes of play to take a 45-30 lead into the locker room for intermission.

At the start of the second half, the Bulldogs came out of the locker room on fire, going on a 9-0 run that was punctuated by a Josh Hurd (Independence, Ky.) layup that made it 45-39, LMU with 15:35 minutes left. The Railsplitters, however, extinguished the UC run quickly, going on an 11-0 run that gave them an insurmountable 56-37 lead with 12 minutes to go.

LMU proceeded to put the game out of UC's reach, eventually taking their biggest lead of the night with three minutes left at 87-57. The Railsplitters then coasted the rest of the way to notch a 26-point home exhibition win.

Overall, Union was led by Sanford, who had a game-high 18 points off the Bulldog bench. The Bulldogs' other double-digit scorer on the night was Ian Davis (Cherry Hill, N.J.), who had 10 points and snatched six rebounds, while Brent Cork (Saginaw, Mich.) chipped in with eight points, and a game-high nine rebounds.

LMU was led in the win by Brandon Armstrong, who had 16 points, and Desmond Johnson, who had 15 points.

Union returns to action Saturday when they host Brescia at Robsion Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
