BLUEFIELD, Va. -- Bluefield (Va.) controlled things right from the tip, as they blew past the Union College men's basketball team, 112-86, on Wednesday evening in Appalachian Athletic Conference action.

With the loss, Union fell to 3-8 on the year, 0-2 in the AAC, while Bluefield improved to 4-7 overall, 1-0 in the AAC with the victory.

In the first half, the Rams were the aggressor right from the start, controlling the Bulldogs from the opening tip. At the end of the first 20 minutes of action, Bluefield held a comfortable 62-37 lead over Union as both teams went into the locker room for intermission.

The Rams continued to dominate the pace in the second half, and coasted over the final minutes to a convincing 26-point AAC home win.

Union returns to action on Saturday when they host Tennessee Wesleyan in an AAC matchup. Tip is set for 6 p.m at Robsion Arena.
