BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Tennessee Wesleyan's Desmond Crisp scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 68-58 victory over Union College in AAC men's basketball action on Saturday evening at Robsion Arena.

With the loss, UC fell to 3-9 on the year, 0-3 in the AAC, while Tennessee Wesleyan improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the AAC with the victory.

In the first period, Union took the very first lead of the game at 2-0, but Tennessee Wesleyan quickly scored four in a row to take a 4-2 lead. After Union tied it up at 4-4, TWC went on an 8-2 run that gave them a 13-6 lead with 14 minutes left in the first half. 

Union would remain in striking distance throughout the period, but TWC continued to lead the game throughout the first 20 minutes, and clung to a 30-28 lead with 5:22 left after a Stuart Stamper (Hindman, Ky.) jumper. 

At this point, TWC went on a 12-0 run to end the period. The scoring surge gave Tennessee Wesleyan a big 42-28 lead going into the locker room for intermission.

In the second half, Tennessee Wesleyan came out of the locker room, and picked up right where they left off, extending their lead out to 51-32 with 15:45 left. 

The deficit was too much for Union to come back from, as the closest UC came to the TWC lead the rest of the game was nine points (57-48 with 9:47 left), as Tennessee Wesleyan coasted down the stretch to pick up a 10-point road win.

Overall, Josh Hurd (Independence, Ky,) was Union's lone double-digit scorer on the night, scoring 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. Hurd also pulled down a seven rebounds in a losing effort, as the Bulldogs were hampered all night by poor shooting from the field, ending the night shooting 39.6 percent from the floor.

Crisp lead Tennessee Wesleyan with his 24 point night, while Quincy Scates recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the victory.

Union now takes a break for finals, and will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Brescia. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. (EST).
