BARBOURVILLE, Ky. --
Union College head bowling coach Brad Piper
has announced that Kim Alexander has signed a letter of intent to join the program.
"The main thing that pulled me into Union College was the bowling scholarships they are able to offer," said Alexander. "I enjoyed meeting with coach Piper, and the current members of the team. They each made me feel like a member of the team. Also, the small size of Union, and the one-to-one concept is very much appealing.
"I will not just be a number at Union, professors will get to know me personally and be able to give guidance when I need it."
Alexander, a native of Lebanon, Ind., has prepped at Lebanon High School. She has been bowling for the last seven years, with a high game of 277, a high series of 679, and a high average of 194, all of which were achieved this year.
Alexander has also garnered some awards in the state of Indiana, taking first place in Division 5 in the 2009 Doubles HDCO, while also earning several individual and team honors at both the 2010 and 2011 Indiana High School Bowling awards. She also placed third in the 2009 national tournament.
Alexander, the daugther of Mike and Sherry Alexander, will be a Pre-Veterinarian major at Union.
