BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - No. 18 Union received a 27-point, 20-rebound performance from junior Lindsey Waters as it posted a 66-55 victory over Emmanuel (Ga.) Saturday in the Lady Bulldog Classic.
The win is Union's fifth in a row as it improved to 9-2 overall. Emmanuel falls to 4-8 on the year. In the other game, Milligan (Tenn.) defeated Tennessee Temple 83-52.
Waters (Stearns, Ky.) went a perfect 15-for-15 at the foul line and hauled in a 18 defensive boards in posting her seventh double-double of the season and third in a row. After her, Amber Taylor (Clinton, Tenn.) had 10 points and six assists. Laura Perkins (Myra, Ky.) went 3-for-4 from long range to finish with nine points.
Union led 33-27 at the half and maintained at least a five-point cushion throughout the second half en route to the 11-point win.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled from the field, shooting 29.6 percent (16 of 54 shots). However, Union went 27-of-34 from the free-thrown. Emmanuel shot 30.8 percent (20 of 65 shots) and went the line only 18 times but made 14.
Kaylyn Young paced the Lady Lions with 20 points with Kayla Eaton adding 12.
Union returns to action Dec. 29-30 when it holds the Union College Holiday Classic. The Lady Bulldogs will play Indiana Southeast on Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. and Pikeville (Ky.) on Dec. 30 at 4 p.m.

Alisha Mainer scored 19 points to go with her 13 rebounds as Milligan recorded the 83-52 victory.
The Buffaloes are now 7-5 overall, while Tennessee Temple is 0-12.
