BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College cross country runner Eric Kinman placed third (out of 300 runners) in the Museum of Aviation Foundation Half Marathon held in Warner Robins, Ga., which was run this past Saturday.

"The weather wasn't optimal considering that the wind chill factor was below 20 degrees when the race started," said cross country coach Scotty Barnes. "Eric fought through that and still ran a great race.

"He went over 3 minutes under his best half marathon last year and this puts him in great position to hit a National Qualifying mark in a couple of months when he gets his next chance."

Kinman completed the race in 1:16:16, keeping a pace of 5:50 per mile. Kinman finished just behind Jonathan Kinsey of Myrtle Beach, S.C., who won the race after finishing in 1:12:36.

Kinman, a senior at Union, recently finished his final season as a member of the Bulldog cross country team. He led the team at the 2011 AAC Championships, finishing 17th overall in the individual event.
