KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
The Union College women's swimming team has achieved their highest ranking in program history, as the Lady Bulldogs are fourth in the latest NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Coaches' Poll.
"Our girls are very deserving of this ranking," said head coach Rafael Forti
. "They have been working very hard all year long, and it's good to see that other coaches from around the country are also putting note on their work in the pool. I'm very happy for them, and this does nothing but only motivate us more to keep working hard every day."
Union had received votes in the first poll of the year, and now moves up into the top four in the latest ranking. Fresno Pacific (Calif.) continues to remain number one in the rankings, receiving all five first place votes.
On the year, the Lady Bulldogs are 11-3 in dual meets. Individually, senior Renata Cabral
has led Union, as she ranks in the top five nationally in two events (the 100-free and 100-fly), along with Callie Harrigan
, who is ranked sixth nationally in three separate events (the 50-free, 100-free, and 100-back).
The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, when they host King (Tenn.) and University of the South at the Stivers Aquatic Center. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
