ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Lindsey Waters of Union is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This marks the fifth time the Stearns, Ky., native has received the award this season.
Waters helped the Lady Bulldogs to a pair of conference wins last week, upping Union's overall to 20-7 overall and league mark to 11-5.
The 6-foot-1 junior center averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks on the week while shooting 59.3 percent from the floor and going 11-for-12 at the foul line. Waters also dished out three assists on the week. With her 10 blocks in two games, she has now tied the school's single-season record with 73 total blocks. In the 69-53 win over Milligan (Tenn.), Waters posted her school-record 17th double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Waters leads the AAC in scoring (20.9), rebounding (11.0) and blocks (2.70).
Union returns to action Wednesday when it pays Point (Ga.) a visit. The conference clash is set to tip at 5:30 p.m.
