KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2012 Division II Women's Basketball All-America teams, and Union center Lindsey Waters earned a spot as a Second Team All-American.

Players are selected by the All-America committee. 

This is the first time any Lady Bulldog has made the Second Team. Brooke Smith made the Third Team in 2008, 2009 and 2010, while four others have earned honorable mentions.

Waters (Stearns, Ky.) led Union in scoring (20.7 points per game), rebounding (11.1 rebounds per game) and blocks (82). She set school records for most blocked shots in a season, most free throws made (191), most rebounds in a season (367) and double-doubles in a season (20). In fact, her 20 double-doubles were third most in NAIA Division II.

Nationally, Waters ranked third in total rebounds, fourth in rebounds per game, fourth in total blocks, fourth in blocks per game (2.485), fifth in points per game and fifth in total points (683).

Waters was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year as well as to the All-AAC First Team, the AAC All-Defensive Team and the Academic All-AAC Team.

Union posted a 25-8 overall record and went 13-5 in conference play. The Lady Bulldogs won the AAC Tournament and advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament.
