BARBOURVILLE, Ky. --
Union College head track & field coach Scotty Barnes
has announced that Danny Trauth has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog program.
Trauth, a Cincinnati, Ohio native, has prepped at Elder High School. At Union, he plans to throw discus, and take part in other field events, as well.
"Danny specializes in the discus event, but he is a great athlete that can step into the other throwing events and do well," said Barnes. "He has a lot of potential, and has a passion for the sport. He is a strong student academically, and will make a great addition to this program."
At Elder, Trauth has been on the track team, and has been a member of the Pride of Elder band. He's also been the manager and tape coordinator for the Cincinnati-Clermont men's basketball team for the last three seasons.
Trauth, the son of Roger and Debi Trauth, has some family ties to Union, as his uncle Capt. Robert Greiman USAF played tennis at Union for four years, while his aunt Luci was an R.A. at the school. Both graduated from Union College in 1994.
