BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union football team will play an 11-game slate with five home dates and trip to Florida on tab, Bulldog head coach Tommy Reid announced recently.

Union, along with arch rival Cumberlands (Ky.) is also back in the Mid-South Conference East Division after spending the past two seasons in the MSC West. To accommodate the move, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) slide over to the MSC West. Also in the MSC East with Union and Cumberlands are Georgetown (Ky.), Kentucky Christian, Pikeville and UVa-Wise.

The Bulldogs have five home games but no back-to-back dates at Burch/Nau Field. However, Union opens the season with back-to-back road games, playing at Lindsey Wilson on Sept. 1 and at Campbellsville on Sept. 8.

Union opens its home schedule Sept. 15 against Cumberlands in the annual Battle for the Brass Lantern. The Bulldogs ended a five-losing skid to the Patriots last season with a 24-19 decision. The game will also be the MSC East opener for Union.

On Sept. 22, Union will play its only non-Mid-South Conference opponent when it travels to Babson Park, Fla., to face the Warriors of Webber International. The Warriors posted a 4-6 record in 2011 but won four of their final five games of the year.

The Bulldogs will face three MSC West opponents next before closing out the season with four MSC East games. Homecoming is scheduled for Oct. 27 when Union plays host to UVa-Wise, while the regular-season finale and last home game is set for Nov. 10 when Pikeville (Ky.) comes to Barbourville.

Union posted a 2-9 overall record and a 1-5 MSC West record in 2011.
