BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College men's head soccer coach Tyler Brock has announced that Nick Mettert, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Bulldog soccer program this fall.

Mettert, a defender and midfielder, has prepped at Carroll High School, and also clubs with the Fort Wayne Sports Club.

"We are very happy to have Nick joining our soccer program this upcoming season," said Brock. "When he trained with the team, he seemed very comfortable on the ball, and was able to help us possess out of the back and work the ball forward. Nick is great fit for Union College."

This past season, Mettert helped Carroll finish the season with a 17-3-2 overall mark, anchoring a defense that posted six shutouts. In the last two seasons, Mettert has helped Carroll achieve a 35-6-3 overall record, as the team won two sectional and two regional championships.

The Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference, finished last season with a 10-7-2 overall mark.
