ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Union College men's and women's track & field squads took part in the 2012 Winthrop Invitational the last two days at the Irwin Belk Track Complex.

For the men, Andrew Johnston had the highest performance for an individual in an event, finishing third in the pole vault with a mark of 12 feet, 5.50 inches. 

Eric Kinman placed sixth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:58.63, while Bradley Fieldhouse was eighth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:59.54. William White rounded out the top finishers for the men, placing ninth in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 8.75 inches.

On the women's side, Kelsey Gregory was eighth in the javelin with a throw of 80 feet, 10 inches. She also finished 16th in the discus with a mark of 84 feet, 10 inches.

Union returns to the track on Friday when they take part in the 2012 Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville. The event runs through Saturday.
