BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union College men's swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Cameron Brewer has signed his National Letter of Intent to join to the Bulldog program this fall. Brewer is a native of Lexington, Ky.

"Cameron is a great addition to our program," said Forti. "He brings in several years of experience in competitive swimming and comes from quality swimming programs in the state.

"He will add depth to our backstroke events, including the 200 back, creating more flexibility to our line-up on individual and relay events. He is also a good sprint freestyler, which will add even more depth to our sprint group. We are expecting to see good things from him."

Brewer has prepped at Bryan Station High School in Lexington, where for the last three years he has been named the school's most valuable swimmer. He also owns 5 individual all-time records at the school, and also swam on three relay teams who broke school records, as well.

Brewer, who has been swimming competitively for seven years, also club swam with Wildcat Aquatics. He's also been honored for his work in the classroom, as he was named to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Academic All-State First Team this past year.

Cameron, the son of Donnie and Kathy Brewer, plans to major in criminal justice at Union College.
