BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union head volleyball coach Chuck Amshoff recently the Lady Bulldogs' 2012 schedule, which features 11 home dates and an 18-match Appalachian Athletic Conference slate.

The Lady Bulldogs will get tested early and often as they will participate in three tournaments during the first month in addition to playing in a quad-match. Of the team's first 15 dates, only three are at home. Union opens the year on Aug. 24-25 at the Lee University Tournament in Cleveland, Tenn. The Lady Flames ended the year 34-3 overall and ranked No. 3 in the NAIA. The Lady Bulldogs will also participate in a quad-match at the Rio Grande (Ohio) on Sept. 1, the Rumpke Invitational at Georgetown (Ky.) College on Sept. 7-8 and the Cumberland (Tenn.) University Classic on Sept. 21-22.

Union's home opener is also its conference opener when Reinhardt (Ga.) comes to Barbourville on Aug. 30. The Lady Bulldogs play only two matches at home in September - Sept. 6 against AAC newcomer St. Andrews (N.C.) and Sept. 18 versus Pikeville (Ky.).

The Lady Bulldogs will spend a lot of time in Robsion Arena with eight home dates, including a tri-match on Oct. 13. Senior night is set for Oct. 31 when Columbia (S.C.) visits for a 6:30 p.m. date.

The conference schedule is expanded to 18 matches in 2012 as St. Andrews and Point (Ga.) are now in the league. 

Union finished the season 20-17 overall and 14-2 in the AAC, winning the regular-season conference championship.
