MONTREAT, N.C. - The Union volleyball team suffered a minor setback in its quest for another Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season title as the Lady Bulldogs dropped a tough 3-1 decision at Montreat (N.C.) on Thursday.
The loss puts Union at 8-11 overall and 4-2 in the AAC, while Montreat is now 12-9 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
Montreat took the first set 25-17. Union battled hard in the second frame, but Montreat took a 2-0 advantage with a 27-25 decision. The Lady Bulldogs made it a 2-1 match as it claimed a 25-23 win in set three. Yet, Montreat sealed the match victory a 25-19 decision in the fourth set.

Union returns home Monday to play host to Bryan (Tenn.) in another conference match at 6:30 p.m.
