PINEVILLE, Ky. - Thomas Scott took top individual honors at the Bulldog Invite on Tuesday as he and two others led the Union men's golf team to the tournament championship.
The six-team event was held at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.
Starting the day in third, Scott fired a round-best 69 to give him a two-day score of 142 as he edged second-place Hunt Lenz of Spalding (Ky.) by one stroke. Tim Miller of Pikeville (Ky.) was third with a 146, while a pair of Bulldogs - Garrett Bradley and Tim Cooper, took fourth and fifth with a 148 and 150, respectively, to round out the All-Tournament Team.
Union took the team title easily, posting a final tally of 599 with Spalding coming in second at 619. Pikeville was third with a 623. Cumberlands (Ky.) took fourth with a 630, Asbury (Ky.) was fifth at 641, and Union's B team placed sixth with a 684.
Rounding out Union's scoring were Brady Sharkey, who posted a 157, and Ryean Gamble, who had a 158.
This was the final fall event for Union. The Bulldogs will resume play in March.
