BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's swimmer Renata Cabral has been named the Appalachian Swimming & Diving Conferences Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Wednesday.
Cabral, a senior, paced the Lady Bulldogs to a dominating win in a dual-meet at Berea (Ky.) this past Saturday.
In all, she notched four NAIA Qualifying Times. Cabral began the meet by leading the 400-medley relay team to an NAIA qualifying time of 4:20.63 with a 1:00.30 butterfly split.
In her two individual events, Cabral won the 100-fly in an NAIA "A" time of 1:00.25, and the 100-breast with an NAIA "B" time of 1:12.71. Last, she led the victorious 200-free Relay to an NAIA qualifying time of 1:45.71 with a 25.01 anchor split.
Cabral and the rest of the Union swimming teams will return to action on Nov. 3 when they host Asbury (Ky.) and Bethel (Tenn.) in a meet at Stivers Aquatic Center beginning at 1 p.m.
