OWENSBORO, Ky. - Kentucky Wesleyan's Donovan Johnson scored a game-high 17 points, leading KWC to a 97-63 win over the Union College men's basketball team on Friday evening. The match-up was an exhibition contest for the Bulldogs.
At the half, Kentucky Wesleyan opened up a 49-31 lead on the heels of some hot shooting from the field, shooting 67 percent. From there, KWC rolled, earning a victory in the team's home opener at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
Overall, Union was led in the game by Sergio Gonzalez, who scored 16 points, while Tanner Broughton came off the bench and scored 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. Johnson led four KWC double-digit scorers in their victory.
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, traveling to IU-East, with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
