WALESKA, Ga. - Senior center Lindsey Waters  broke the final tie of the game to left the 18th-ranked Union women's basketball team to a 59-55 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory at Reinhardt (Ga.) on Thursday.

The victory keeps the Lady Bulldogs perfect in conference play as they improve to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the AAC. Reinhardt falls to 6-9 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Historically, Union has had a difficult team winning at Reinhardt. Since the Lady Eagles joined the AAC in 2009, the Lady Bulldogs are now 2-2 when play in Waleska, Ga., averaging 60.8 points per game.

Tied at 55-all, Waters scored with 2.9 seconds left to put Union up two. Fouled on the play, Waters missed the free throw but got the rebound and was fouled immediately by Hannah Mayo. Waters sank two free throws to make the final 59-55.

The Stearns, Ky., native finished with a game-high 20 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots. Alyson Roberts followed with 12 points, while Amber Taylor chipped in 11.

For Reinhardt, Tara Hay led the way with 17 points with Taylor Johnson adding 13.

Neither team shot the ball particularily well as Union hit 32.3 percent (21-of-65 shots) from the field and Reinhardt making 35.2 percent (19-of-54) of its shots. The Lady Eagles dominated the glass, outrebounding the Lady Bulldogs 51-33. Reinhardt's April Beasley hauled in a game-high 16 boards.

Union returns home Saturday to play host to Montreat (N.C.). The AAC showdown is set to tip at 4 p.m.
