RICHMOND, Ky. - The Union men's and women's bowling teams had a solid outing in the Bulldog Classic on Saturday with the Lady Bulldogs placing fourth and the Bulldogs seventh.
The women's team finished fourth out of 10th teams, and all five bowlers placing in the top 20. Union tallied a pinfall of 6,177. Pikeville (Ky.) won with a score of 6,807.
Christy King finished fourth to make the all-tournament team as she rolled a 917. Laurel Everett placed sixth and Meredith Morrison was seventh as they scored 883 and 817, respectively. Katelynn George landed 10th with an 837, and Kimberly Alexander rounded out things with a 19th-place finish with a 799.
The men's team took seventh out of 12 teams, rolling a 6,212. Pikeville (Ky.) won the event with a 7,029.
Wayne King was the Bulldogs' top individual finisher, placing 19th with a final pinfall of 884. Keight Venis was next in line at 23rd with a score of 873.
The Union bowlers will next compete at the Thomas Burris Memorial in Lexington, Ky., on Feb. 10.
