  ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Union senior Lindsey Waters is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the third time this season and the ninth time in her career Waters has received the award.

The 6-foot-1 center from Stearns, Ky., paced Union to two conference wins as she recorded her 10th and 11th double-doubles of the season. Waters averaged 15.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. She also had season highs for assists (4) and steals (6) in win over Bryan and had nine blocks on the week, giving her 88 on the year to break her school-record of 82 from last season.

On the year, Waters leads the AAC in scoring (16.73 PPG), rebounding (9.65 RPG) and blocks (3.39 BPG). 

Union is 19-9 overall and finished 12-6 in conference play to secure the No. 3 seed in this week's league tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs open AAC Tournament play Thursday against No. 6 seed Virginia Intermont at 5:15 p.m. in Kingsport, Tenn.
