BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Senior Mark Parsons has been named a 2007 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for Baseball, the NAIA announced recently.

The marks the second  time Parsons (London, Ky.) has been named an Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete as he earned the honor in 2006.

To be named an Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be a minimum of a junior in academic standing and have at least a 3.5 grade-point average.

Parsons posted a 10-5 overall record with a 4.97 earned-run average. He had 63 strikeouts and 29 walks in 96.0 innings of work. The right-hander picked up two wins in the NAIA Region XII Tournament, including the decision in the 11-6 win over Tennessee Wesleyan College in the championship game.

The Bulldogs  finished 46-17 in 2007, their third consecutive 40-win season, and won the regional for the first time in school history.
