PINEVILLE, Ky. - Junior Brittany Zins (Cincinnati, Ohio) earned a spot on the All-Appalachian Athletic Conference Second Team as Union finished third in the conference regular-season championship hunt, the league announced Wednesday.
Zins and Union competed in the AAC Spring Tournament, which was held in conjunction with the Bulldog Spring Invitational, at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky. The Lady Bulldogs placed third with a score of 696. Combined with its total from the fall tournament, Union finished with a total tally of 1,385 to land it third overall.
SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) won the regular-season crown with a score of 1,332 with Tennessee Wesleyan placing second at 1,372.
Zins is one of 10 players to make the all-conference team, which is based on the golfers' scores during the two regular-season tournaments. The top five players make the first team with the next five the second team.
This is the second time in her career Zins made the All-AAC Team, earning second team honors in 2011 as a freshman.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is the AAC Championship Tournament/NAIA Direct Qualifier, which is set for April 22-23 in Greeneville, Tenn.
