LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's and women's track & field teams concluded their 2013 outdoor season on Saturday, taking part in the Bellarmine (Ky.) Classic.
For the men's team, William White had the highest finish in an event, placing seventh in the javelin with a 124 foot, ten inch effort. White also posted top 20 finishes in two other events, the discus (112 feet, six inch effort) and the hammer throw (112 foot throw). Rounding out the top finishes on the day for the Bulldogs was Matt Francis' effort in the shot put, who placed 14th with a 38 foot, 1.25 inch effort.
On the women's side, Christa Hicks had the team's highest finish in an event, finishing fourth in the javelin (91 feet, four inches). Hicks also had a high finish in the long jump, posting a 15 foot, .75 inch effort. Meanwhile, Kayse Cornett placed sixth in the javelin (72 feet, 11 inches) and 11th in the shot put (29 feet, 9.50 inches).
The NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships begin May 23 in Marion, Ind.
