BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's soccer coach Camila Mendes has announced that Taylor Hamms has signed her National Letter of Intent, and will join the Lady Bulldog program in a few months in time for the squad's summer practices.

Hamms, a goalkeeper, joins UC from Centerville High School in Dayton, Ohio, where she played on the girl's soccer team. Hamms also has played club soccer for Ohio Elite, Ohio Galaxies and now is currently a member of the Dutch Lions.

"One thing I love about her is that she is not afraid of coming out of the goal, and she does a great job in one-on-one situations," said Mendes. "She also works well with the ball on her feet. This is going to be an asset for our style of play, since we like to play the ball back to the keeper and get her involved in the game.

"She has good hands and I am thrilled to add her to our roster. I am confident she will do a wonderful job. She is definitely a great addition to our program."

The Lady Bulldogs, members of the NAIA and the AAC, posted a 11-6-1 overall mark in 2012.
