BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union men's golf coach Eric Wyrick recently announced the signing of Alasdair Ross of Scotland for the 2013-14 squad.
"Our golf program is very happy to add Alasdair to our roster for next year," said Wyrick. "He has had a great career thus far and I know he will make an immediate impact to our team next year. Alasdair has had some great opportunities to represent his country and I cannot wait for him to represent Union.
"He is very solid in the classroom as well," the Bulldog coach continued. "He has maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. and works very hard on his studies. Alasdair has no ceiling on the course with the way he works on his game and has a very bright future."
Ross has represented my county North of Scotland at U14 and U16 levels, captaining the team at respective age levels for the last three years. He was also selected to represent the North of Scotland at the Scottish Area Team Championships in 2012 (U18). In 2010, Ross was the runner-up in the North of Scotland Order of Merit and was the junior champion at Fort Williams Golf Club from 2009-12.
Currently, Ross is competing at national level in Scottish Junior Tour events run by the Scottish Golf Union.
Union placed third in the Appalachian Athletic Conference during the regular season and was fifth at the league tournament.
