BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - First year Union College cycling head coach Sean Trinque has announced the Bulldogs' 2013 schedule. The team will take part in seven events throughout the season, culminating with the 2013 NCCA National Championships in October.
Union opens the season on Sept. 7-8, taking part in a race hosted by East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn. The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs then travel to Georgia Tech on Sept. 14-15 and Clemson (S.C.) on Sept. 28-29 to round out the month of September.
The teams kicks-off the final month of the season traveling to Mars Hill (N.C.) for a race on Oct. 5-6. The squads final warm-up before the conference championship will take place the next week (Oct. 12-13) at the University of Florida.
The team ends the season first taking part in the 2013 Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Championship to be hosted this year by Brevard (N.C.) on Oct. 19-20. Last season, the Bulldogs narrowly missed out on their third consecutive conference title, finishing second overall.
The 2013 campaign concludes the next week (Oct. 26-27) with the 2013 NCCA Championship in Mars Hill, N.C. Last season, Union placed second in the event.
