BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the availability of a Union athletics app for portable Apple devices.
Bulldog Athletics has been working with SIDHelp, the athletic website developer, on the application for several weeks and Apple Inc. approved the final release Wednesday (August 21). Union is the 15th school in the SIDHelp family to have an app and the 11th NAIA institution to have one.
The department launched the first incarnation of its SIDHelp produced site in the fall of 2007 and the site went under a complete redesign in the January of 2011. The feedback from both the original site and the redesign has been overwhelmingly positive.
"Going with SIDHelp over six years ago as our website host was one of the best and easiest decisions we've made ," said director of sports communications Jay Stancil. "Greg Black and his staff have always produced high-quality work and done everything possible to provide us with what we need.
"Our website, however, does not translate very well to mobile devices," he continued. "Because of that, we wanted to develop an app that would all our fans, friends and alumni to stay better connected with Bulldog athletics."
The app is available for both iPhones and iPads.
Within the app fans will have quick and intuitive access to virtually all department information. Fans can read the latest headlines and game recaps, check up on recent news within the department; view student-athlete and staff bios, access contact information for department staff, view team schedules and even watch or listen to live events from within the app.
The app is free of charge and can be accessed by visiting the App Store or simply by clicking here.
