DANVILLE, Ky. – The Union College Lady Bulldogs’ 400-yard freestyle relay team posted a new season best at Centre (Ky.) College Saturday.

Kristina Kirk (Versailles, Ky.), Kelli Rogers (Elizabethtown, Ky.), Eden Ellison (Tamms, Ill.) and Mollie Messmer (Scott City, Mo.) made up the team that swam to a time of four minutes and 20.77 seconds.

With the best legs this season, the combined time for the group is 4:10.41, an NAIA “A” national qualifying cut.

Rafael Forti, Union’s head coach is pleased with how the team competed. “I am confident we are on the right path and better performances are ahead of us.”

The host, Center defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 222-22. Asbury (Ky.) College was also a part of the meet and handed Union a 226.5-23.5 loss.

Next for Union is an 11 a.m. meet Saturday at Berea (Ky.) College.
