LONDON, Ky. - The Union men's golf team finished in a tie for third at the Bill Sergent Invitational, and Garrett Bradley earned a spot on the All-Tournament on Tuesday.
The two-day event was hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky.
Union posted the second-best round of the day with a 294 to move up from fifth to third. Only tournament champion Cumberlands had a better round with a 290.
Cumberlands won with a final tally of 580 as Holy Cross (Ind.) was second at 594. Union and Cumberlands 'B' Team tied for third at 595, while Emmanuel (Ga.) was fifth with a 599. There were 11 teams in the field.
This is Union's best showing ever in this tournament.
Bradley finished in a tie for second individually, shooting a 71 during the first round and a 72 during the final round for a 143. Only Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Franck Medale's 142 was better.
Simon Taylor narrowly missed making the top 10 as he posted a 148 to land tied in 11th. Alasdair Ross tied for 20th at 151, while Tim Cooper finished tied for 26th at 153. Andy Dusek shot a 158 to place 37th overall.
The Bulldogs return to action on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 when they play in the Berry Invitational in Rome, Ga.
