BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - A first half goal by Reinhardt's Allie Hale was the difference, as the host Lady Eagles got past the Union College women's soccer team, 1-0, in Appalachian Athletic Conference action on Saturday at Bulldog Field.

With the loss, Union fell to 1-4 overall, 1-1 in the AAC, while Reinhardt improved to 41, 1-0 in the AAC with the road victory.

The lone goal of the contest came in the 15th minute, as Hale played a ball from Stephanie Goins into the back of the net. Union, however, stayed in the match throughout, as goalie Kendall Ellington had a great day, making nine saves (seven of which came in the first half).

Forward Aline Dalmedico tried desperately to get Union on the scoreboard throughout, firing seven shots on net (five of which were on goal). However, RU goalie Taylor Asher made a save on each shot on goal, stopping eight shots total on the day to earn the shutout victory.

Overall, Reinhardt outshot Union 22-10 in the contest, while holding a slim 2-1 advantage on corner kicks.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action next Saturday. Traveling to Columbia (S.C.) for another AAC contest. Things get underway at 3 p.m.
