ATHENS, Tenn. - The Union women's golf team posted a fifth-place finish at the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational on Tuesday. The two-day tournament was held at Springbrook Golf and Country Club in Athens, Tenn.

The Lady Bulldogs amassed a two-round score of 688 to land fifth in the seven-team field. St. Andrews (N.C.) won the event at 631, while Reinhardt (Ga.) took second with a 665. Tennessee Wesleyan was third at 671 with Point (Ga.) claiming fourth with a score of 677.

After Union, Tennesse Wesleyan's Gold Team placed sixth with a 759, and Bryan (Tenn.) rounded out the field in seventh with a 766.

Katie Nusz paced Union with a ninth-place showing as she fired a 165. She shot an 82 during the opening round and finished off play with an 83 on Tuesday. Brittany Zins posted a score of 173 to land 16th, while Syndey Smith and Elizabeth Haack tied for 20th as both posted a 176. Danielle Judd shot a 179 to place 26th overall.

Laura Kinsman of St. Andrews took top individual honors with a 154.

Union returns to action on Oct. 7-8 when it hosts the Bulldog Invite at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.
