ROME, Ga. - The Union College men's golf team capped off a strong showing at the 2013 Chick-fil- Collegiate Invitational at the Coosa Country Club on Tuesday, finishing sixth overall after posting a combined score of 596 (302-294).
Individually, senior Garrett Bradley, who was in a tie for 17th entering the final round, fired a one-under par 71 to launch himself into a tie for fifth to end the tournament. Bradley shot a one-over par score of 73 yesterday, finishing the tournament with a combined score of 144 (even par).
Elsewhere on the individual end, Andy Dusek finished in a tied for 25th, shooting a 75 on day two to post a combined score of 149 (74-75). Thomas Scott had the biggest one day improvement in score for the Bulldogs at the invite, shooting an even par 72 on day two to finish in a tie for 41st with a combined score of 151 (79-72).
Tim Cooper matched a first round score of 77 on day two to finish in a tie for 65th (154 combined score), while Alasdair Ross finished in the same spot as his teammate after posting a 76 in the final round (78-76). Rounding out the Union individuals at the event was Simon Taylor, who shot a 79 on the day to finish in a tie for 97th overall (combined score of 159).
Overall, Oglethorpe was able to hang on and capture the team title at the event, posting a final score of 576 (even par). On the individual end, Oglethorpe's Anthony Amodeo finished first, ending the tournament with a five-under score of 139 (69-70) to take top honors.
The Union College men's golf team returns to action on Monday, hosting the 2013 Bulldog Invite at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.
