BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union sophomore Ana Calaza is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Libero of the Week, the league announced Monday, marking the fourth time this season she has earned the award.
The Rio de Janerio, Brazil, native, also has received the honor on Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Oct. 7.
Calaza helped Union to a 2-1 record last week with a 3-2 conference win at Montreat (N.C.), a 3-2 loss to Cumberlands (Ky.) and a 3-1 win at Kentucky Christian. She posted a season-high 39 digs in the loss to Cumberlands, and averaged 5.57 digs per set on the week.
For the season, Calaza has 413 digs and ranks 18th in the NAIA in digs per set at 5.25.
The Bulldogs are 15-6 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
Union returns home Tuesday to host Tennessee Wesleyan in an AAC showdown. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
