WALESKA, Ga. - The Union men's golf team put together a strong final round to move up the standings and finish fourth at the Reinhardt (Ga.) Invitational on Tuesday.
The two-day tournament was held at the Callahan Golf Links in Waleska, Ga.
The Bulldogs were in fifth following the first round with a score of 312. However, Union shaved 17 strokes off its score and carded a 295 on Tuesday to give it a total tally of 607. Cumberlands (Ky.) won the event with a 575 with host Reinhardt took second with 585. Lindsey Wilson was third at 597. After Union, SCAD Atlanta came in fifth at 609. In all, eight teams participated.
Individually, Garrett Bradley and Simon Taylor led the Bulldogs as the duo shot indentical 3-over 147. Both carded a 74 on Monday before shooting a final-round 73. Their scores placed them sixth overall, just outside of making the All-Tournament Team.
Reinhardt's Brandon Price took medalist honors in large part to shooting a 5-under 67 during the final round for a total score of 138.
After Bradley and Taylor, Andy Dusek recorded a 15th-place showing with a 151. Tim Cooper and Thomas Scott rounded out the Bulldogs' scoring as they tied for 36th at 163.
This was the final fall event for Union. The Bulldogs will return to the links in March.
