PIPPA PASSES, Ky. - The Union College men's basketball team dropped a 84-77 decision on the road at Alice Lloyd (Ky.) on Saturday in NAIA action.
With the loss, Union fell to 1-1 on the young season, while ALC improved to 1-0 on the year.
In the first half, Alice Lloyd leaped out to a 38-32 with three minutes remaining in the period. The Eagles held that lead over the last moments of the half, as they held a 41-38 lead at intermission.
In the second period, Union took a 63-62 lead with 8:33 left. However, the Eagles roared back down the stretch, pulling away to take a seven-point victory in their season opener.
Union returns to action on Nov. 9, hosting Point (Ga.) in the Bulldogs' Appalachian Athletic Conference season opener, Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
