BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Several members of the Union College men's and women's swimming teams remained highly ranked in the latest Appalachian Swimming & Diving top times list.
On the men's side, the Bulldog 200-medley relay team currently has the second best time in the league, hitting the wall in 1:38.16 in their first meet of the season against Cumberlands (Ky.) and St. Catharine (Ky.). The Bulldog 800-free relay team in third in the league (7:36.22), while the 400-free relay squad is fifth overall (3:28.46).
Indvidually, Bradley Moore still leads the league in two events, the 200-free (1:46.82) and 500-free (4:44.99), while Dalton Baxter leads the conference in the 1000-free (10:08.42). Vinicius Rossi is the conference leader in the 200-breast (2:13.78), and Jose Jesus Morales rounds out the Bulldogs leading the league in an event, as he leads the 400-IM (4:19.37) and the 200-fly (2:01.08).
For the women, the Bulldog 200-medley relay squad currently has the second best mark in the conference at 1:51.59. They've also posted the third best time in the 800-free relay (8:26.25) and fourth best in the 400-free relay (3:53.42).
Individually, Callie Harrigan leads the way in 200-free (1:58.71) and is second in the 200-back (2:14.96) and 100-free (54.35), while Kasey McCormick is third in two events - the 400-IM (4:58.61) and 200-breast (2:33.36). Eliska Melicharova is third in the 100-back (1:01.58), rounding out the top performances for the Bulldog women's team.
The Union College swimming teams return to action on Saturday, traveling to Campbelllsville (Ky.) to take on the host Tigers and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). Action gets underway at 11 a.m.
