BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's swimming team is picked to finish in a tie for fourth, while the women's team is slated to place fifth in the 2013-14 Appalachian Swimming Conference's Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Thursday.

Overall, Wheeling Jesuit is on top of both polls in the preseason. The ASC has 14 member institutions on the women's side, with 13 on the men's side.

Both teams have already opened their 2013-14 seasons, as the Union women's team is 4-1 on the year in dual meets, while the men's team is 3-2. The teams will conclude their regular seasons at the 2014 ASC Championships, which will be held this season in Christiansburg, Va. from Feb. 13-15, 2014. Last season, the Union men finished fourth at the Championships, while the women placed eighth.

The Union men's and women's swimming teams will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 23, when they host Transylvania (Ky.) and Bethel (Tenn.). Action gets underway at the Stivers Aquatic Center at 1 p.m.
