BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The NAIA has released the first men's and women's swimming top times lists of the 2013-14 season, and several Union College men's and women's swimmers rank highly on the lists.
For the men's team, the 200-medley relay team has the sixth highest mark in the country in the event at 1:38.16, while the 800-free relay squad has the eighth best time in 7:36.22.
Individually, freshman Bradley Moore leads the country in the 1000-free, with a mark of 9:52.17. Moore is also fourth overall in the 500-free (4:44.99).
Elsewhere, Dalton Baxter is just behind Moore in the 1000-free in third (10:08.82), and 13th in the 500-free (4:52.57) while Jose Jesus Morales is seventh in the 400-IM (4:19.37) and 11th in the 200-fly (2:01.08). Rounding out the list of top marks for the men's team is Lucas Lucena, who is 12th in the 200-back (2:00.20) and Vinicius Rossi, who is also 12th in the 200-breast (2:13.78).
On the women's side, the Bulldogs 200-medley relay team is fourth in the nation at 1:51.59, the 400-free relay squad is fifth overall (3:46.87), and the 800-free relay team sits in eighth overall (8:26.25). Rounding out the list was the 200-free relay squad, who is in 10th nationally (1:46.65).
Individually, Anna Kotliarova has the highest place on the team nationally in an event, as she sits in fourth in the 100-free (53.96). Kasey McCormick is sixth overall in two events - the 100-breast (1:09.67) and 200-breast (2:32.21) - while Callie Harrigan is sixth in the 200-free (1:58.71), ninth in the 100-free (54.35) and 10th in the 200-back (2:14.96).
The Union College swimming teams return to action on Dec. 6, as the program hosts their annual Winter Invitational at the Stivers Aquatic Center. The event runs through Dec. 7
